Always Remember That .........

Sometimes in life,
you find a special friend:
Someone who changes your life by
being part of it.

Someone who makes you laugh
until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe
that there is really good in this world.
This is forever friendship.

When you're down,
and the world seems dark and empty,
your forever friends lifts you up
in spirit and makes that dark and empty
world suddenly seem bright and full.

If you find such friend,
you feel happy and complete

My Hibiscus

6th April 2012 (Friday): My hibiscus flowers have bloomed and I'm happy to see the gorgeous colours. I began my hibiscus garden last year and they started to bloom last month. There are five types which are white, pink, red and pinkish red. I think I'll add some more to my collection. It's because the flower is so dramatic. It is a decorative flowering plant that can grow well here in Malaysia. Moreover, this flower is the Malaysian national flower. Even at my place of work, there are different types of them. I use hibiscus flowers to landscape the school's garden. There are few types that I still don't have at my garden. I like to plant this flower because it has many uses as in herbal teas, hair treatment and even as aids in my teaching of Visual Arts. This flower is also connected to 'delicate beauty' and sometimes a popular gift among the gardeners. Here are some of my hibiscus flowers .. :)

My Paintings

I like drawing & painting .. in fact these had been my hobbies since I was at school .. I even won some of the few competitions when I was at college, sometimes got 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but can't have my paintings back because they became the college's personal properties :( .. but never mind .. still continue drawing & painting .. When I took my degree I enrolled with Visual Arts subject & gained more skills on paintings & drawings .. I even learnt how to do the 'batik' paintings with my colleagues & produced some :) .. well here are some of what I have done ..

MY HOLIDAYS AT TAWAU

I went to Tawau with my youngest daughter, Bibi Syaza Liyana for a 10 days holiday at my eldest daughter's (Effe) place at Taman Sri Indah Tawau .. spent great times there travelling here and there, roaming around the city, buying things which are really cheap compared to things at my place, Papar .. had feasted great dishes here and there too .. also went to Kunak and Semporna, at  Floating Village and had enjoyed the views too ..

What I like

There is much more to our lives than mere existence. Pleasure and amusement are as important to us as survival is. Leisure enables us an opportunity to regain the energy that we expend while working, as well as to distract out attention from regular work. Engaging ourselves in healthy hobbies is a useful way of utilizing leisure. Hobbies serve as alternate occupation that would restore to us our enthusiasm for routine work.
Choosing our hobbies should be in line with our interest and attitudes. Our choices depend on our tastes, talents and temperament, as well as our age and financial position. As there are large number of hobbies, which vary from the simplest and cheapest to the complex and expensive, often our choice of hobbies depends on how much time and money we can spare for them.
For me, I like reading books, sketching or drawings, surfing the nets, gardening, cooking and travelling. I like reading Mills & Boons books, especially stories of the middle east. Sketching & drawing are my minors especially designs of flora & fauna. Surfing the nets about educational programs for my students on co-curriculum challenges and for the betterment of my school's achievement. I like planting flowers like orchids & hibiscus as well as cactus. I like cooking Malay & Chinese dishes as well nowadays with everyday practice especially during festive seasons of Hari Raya & Christmas. Besides travelling is what I like the most as I can meet many faces as well as exciting views & new ideas. I hope this blog of mine can help me gain insight of new knowledge as well as friends .. cheers ..
